10 am—4.30 pm. £35
This area on the shores of Strangford Lough has a
beautiful range of landscapes and natural forms to work from. This
workshop will be an opportunity to ‘Zoom in’ and look closer at some of
the forms we see in the landscape.
The sessions will begin with demonstrations of the ways
we can make drawings from nature. We will look at trees, rocks and
other natural forms and consider how we express form, texture and
space. You will use different media including charcoal, pencil and
paint . As always, You will be guided by me throughout the day and we
will end with a review of the workshop and individual feedback on your
own studies

Developing Abstract Paintings ( Various media)
Wandsworth community Centre , Sat 25th August 2018 10 am—4.30 pm. £35
Following the popularity of last year’s ‘Abstract painting’ workshop,
this session will introduce you to
even more
ways of developing images into abstract paintings! It will also
introduce you to some important abstract artists of the 20th century.
I will explain some of the methods which we can use to change the
images we observe into new and interesting forms, colours and surfaces.
You will experiment with different ways of using paint, and other
materials.
We will find out about (and be inspired by) the work of artists like
Elsworth Kelly and Nicholas de Stael .
This workshop is designed to give you more knowledge about where
‘Abstract’ painting came from and also more confidence to try new
approaches to your own painting.
Drawing materials for this workshop will be provided.
